Get better soon, Leona-chan!

In a series of slightly unfortunate events, Leona fell down while ice-skating with me today and fractured her wrist. I’m praying for her now and I hope whoever who’s reading this, even if you don’t know her, will pray for her speedy recovery.

Leona-chan, hayaku genki ni naru, ne?

Godspeed.

L’s Day Out ~ “L Change the World”

Filed under: Sunway Pyramid — Tags: — evemurmurs @ 10:41 am

This story took place several weeks ago, after the completion of the first stage of my Japanese education. Please proceed with caution.

Skrit, skrit.

L glared at the offending article – namely his battered sandals – that was standing innocently on the car floor. He detested all footwear with a small vengeance but the human norm dictated that the feet should be covered when venturing outdoors. He slid his feet into the old sandals grudgingly as Sunway Pyramid rolled into view.

He bid his driver goodbye and hopped into the shopping complex. After a brief phone call, he decided to wait for his acquaintances in front of the Starbucks right beside the complex entrance. Already, he could see people staring at him for his oddly hunched back, his messy mop of hair and sulking expression. He glared passively back at them and waited impatiently for his acquaintances.

After about five minutes, he spotted the figures of two of his acquaintances from a crowd of people. Agent Kura and Agent Mother bounded over, looking a little flustered and L wondered for a brief moment if they had overdid it with the sugar again. Not many people had the same tolerance as his after all.

Some more waiting was due and finally acquaintance no. 3, Agent Yancha arrived and at the sight of L, went “OMG!”, which L deeply appreciated because he didn’t do public appearances for just anyone.

There was some heated debate as to where they were to have lunch. L was gracious enough to suggest ramen because he understood that other people did not subsist on candy (no matter how delicious and beneficial they were) and also, he did not mind ramen that much.

Much to his dismay, Mother declined almst immediately and Kura seconded Mother’s opinion without hesitation. L suspected that there has been a dissention among ranks within his agents lately. He was more used to be able to command respect and have the last word with any of his agents.

In spite of L’s vehement protests, they ended up having lunch at some sort of barbecue place. The only up side was the waiters didn’t bother asking L to sit properly when he proceeded to squat in his seat.

Above you can see Agent Yancha. The meat was sufficient and so was the barbecue sauce. But still… L left to find the toilets and was lost for quite a while. In the time between leaving to find the toilet and returning to Barbecue Plaza, the great detective had managed to scare one unfortunate restaurant advertiser and an Arabian couple.

sugar!!!

Directly after that, the three agents brought L to Waffle World to appease him. It’s not difficult to appease L. You either needed: candy, a good case or Kira. L wondered why people didn’t try appeasing him more.

Kura and Yancha’s dessert came first. L glares (read: pouts) at them until they gave in and let him try some.

The agents took to feeding each others as a sign of bonding and trust. L thought it was funny to want to give your dessert to someone else but what the heck – it wasn’t his dessert.

“You have yet to understand the true ways of the world, L,” said Agent Kura.

Yatto kitta~! L’s dessert (Peach Melba) was finally done!

L was greatly pleased.

Ater dessert, the team proceeded to GSC Cinemas where they had booked tickets for L Change the World. L saw a poster of himself standing six feet tall next to the box office but the few people present were still oblivious to his presence. L felt strangely grateful as they shuffled into the theatre.

In the theatre, L had to hunch extra lower to avoid blocking the view of the person sitting behind him. Throughout the movie, his legs fell asleep many times while sitting on his haunches but fortunately no one else seemed to mind.

The movie ended with the movie version of L dying and L himself berated his movie self for the stupidity of writing his own name in the Death Note in the first place. L was highly upset with his movie self for revealing his real name to the entire world. Hopefully, the real Kira would not be wily enough to deduce that L Lawliet was his real name.

However, L was touched when Kura cried for his movie counterpart as he walked to his death (fool). After the movie, L was left vulnerable to the audience who suddely realised that L was truly within their midst. Flustered, L ushered his agents out and unwittingly followed them into the women’s toilet.

Needless to say, the agents were very amused.

Then, Yancha had to make a quick departure. Left to the devices of L, the agents were coerced to having a second round of dessert at a pancake house. They were strangely reluctant to admit to have played to L’s whims – aren’t they cute?

But even Mother could not deny the sweet siren call of blueberry pancakes.

…soft, chewy, sweet pancakes…

But it is not complete without maple syrup. A. Lot. Of. Maple. Syrup.

For L, pancakes were as close as he was willing to get to a real meal.

Tohoshinki, waiting for L to finish his damn pancakes.

Kura, wondering why they’d come to the pancake house in the first place.

L had fun today. The peach melba and the pancakes were a big plus and watching himself on the big screen was entertaining to a certain extent. Still, he breathed a sigh of relief as Watari came round to the shopping complex, saying it was high time that he returned to work.
